Expressway Usage Soars: Over 100,000 Vehicles Take Advantage of Faster Route

Sihanoukville: The Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway witnessed a remarkable surge in traffic, with over 100,000 vehicles taking to the road between February 26 and March 3, 2024. This bustling activity underscores the expressway's crucial role in facilitating travel and commerce in the region.

According to the latest weekly traffic report, a total of 101,473 vehicles were recorded navigating the expressway during this period. The report also detailed the responsiveness of the expressway's support services, noting 128 calls to the 1399 hotline. These calls included requests for assistance, with 1 reported traffic accident, 66 instances of aid provided, and 61 information consultations.

In light of the expressway's heavy use, the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway Company has issued a reminder to all motorists. The company urges drivers to adhere strictly to the expressway's usage conditions and the national road traffic laws. Key advice includes maintaining speeds within the legal limit and avoiding dangerous maneuvers such as driving against the flow of traffic.
